Sangam 2002
Sangam
means Union of both hearts and souls and on Sunday, 8 September, ISCS organised
such an event. Sangam 2002 was an event that brought the Indian community in NTU
together. Many games and quizzes were organised to charm everyone. There were
quizzes to get the brain cells ticking, rangoli to get the creative juices
flowing, antakshri to lure the bathroom singers out of the bathroom, creative
writing where you could write about anything under the sun, games to tickle you
and lastly, but definitely not the least, a variety performance to warm your
heart.
The trivia
quiz appeared to be a roaring success with many. The questions were set by our
Quizmaster, Aditya Sethia. The eventual winners were Nirmal, Tinu and Baja of
Ganga.
. The
contestants could write poems, short entertaining stories and even limericks.
The ones who emerged most creative winners were Ishita of Yamuna, Baja of Ganga
and Rahul of Ganga.Special mention must be given to Tinu Tom for exceptional
creative writing.
Antakshri
was a singing competition aimed at bringing out the inner bathroom singer in
everyone. 6 teams consisting of 3 people each took part hoping to entertain the
strong and vocal audience with their repertoire of hindi songs.
Games were
organised to tickle the funny bones of the crowd. Games like Liar Liar and Dumb
Charades were among the funniest. The eventual winners were from Ganga
Ganga
emerged the best performing team at the variety show performed that evening and
special mention must be given to prasadh for such an entertaining performance.
Ganga had such scintillating performances in most events that it was no surprise
that they won the Challenge Trophy at the end of the night. Nirmal was clearly
the jewel in the crown as he entertained all to great extents and it was indeed
right that he won the Best Performer Award.
